Powder Hounds was the result of a round table discussion with
Big Mountain Resort
on how we could marry public relations with SAR dog training/handling. The
result was beyond our wildest expectations. Over the course of 4 months,
Flathead County SAR dogs managed to educate over 800 people from 8 different
countries in the training and handling of Avalanche dogs. It was, needless to
say, a huge success. The following are a few of my favorite photo's (of one of
my favorite Belgians) from the 2004 season (compliments of
