Over the course of two pulling seasons, Merak managed to earn himself his Working Dog pulling both cart and sled. Merak preferred cart pulls to snow pulls and consistently pulled in the 1000 pound range. His best overall cart pull was 1500 pounds. Merak earned the gold medal for cart pulls in Region 3 two years running before he retired. Due to his rankings in the division, he also earned himself two trips to the International pull-offs for both snow and wheels.
